We are ahead of a critical moment in the history of the earth, a time where the humanity must choose its future, to decide between forming a global alliance to take care of earth and ones of the others, or to risk our destruction and of the diversity of the life. In case that this does not happen, with the behavior of all the individuals, organizations, companies and government, we run the risk to finish with the natural resources that are finite.

The Earth Charter has as function to hinder that the dominant standards of production and consumption cause ambient devastation, the reductions of the resources and an intensive extinguishing of species. Therefore it I was divided in four principles: to respect and to take care of the community of the life, ecological integrity, social and economic justice and the democracy, not violence and peace.

Among these principles ideas are distinguished respectively as: To respect the earth and the life in all its diversity, being recognized that all the beings are linked and each form of life has its value. To construct democratic societies that are fair, participative, sustainable and pacific. With an international agency that manages these societies, in the case the UN. |
Through these ideas and principles we must search a new beginning. Such renewal is the promise of the principles of the Earth Charter. To fulfill this promise, we have that in compromising them to adopt and to promote the values and objectives of the Charter, only this way we will have a more human and solidarity world.
